Ellen was raised in rural Indiana in the same area that Jamie Poole’s novel begins. At the age of five, her family visited their ancestral homeland in Scotland. Inspired by the grandeur of the country’s She would continue her childhood documenting adventures and interesting experiences in comic strip and prose formats. When she attended Indiana Wesleyan University, Marion, Indiana, she selected as her major English emphasizing writing with the intent to teach English while she established her writing career. She also took courses in art to develop her drawing skills. Ellen taught English for two years before expanding her career to teaching English in a business environment in the technology industry. She has worked in the technology industry ever since, providing training materials in both written and oral form for customers and off-shore customer support personnel. Ellen has lived in the Midwest, New Hampshire, and currently resides in Montana with her husband Joe and daughter Megan. They have adopted four rescue animals: Jake and Boomer the dogs and Gizmo and Simon the cats who are more like family than pets. The entire family, sans the cats, enjoy outdoor activities including hiking and camping. Ellen also enjoys cartooning, jewelry making, and reading. Jamie Poole and the Isle of Osiris was a venture of 20 years of thought, research, and writing. Ellen looks forward to adding further adventures to Jamie and other characters in this story which promises to be the first of a planned trilogy.
