When a set of cards arrived at the house They came from a charity Neatly addressed to my spouse
With his monthly donations They thought they would share How much they appreciated His money and care
There were hopes for “Delights this holiday season” And talk of “Joy – Let it Snow” A salutation of “Season’s Greetings” And a wish “World peace” will grow
But, in all the cards received that day Designed and offered with respect Merry Christmas was noticeably absent Most likely stamped “politically incorrect”
So, hell bent on bucking the system That’s determined to change language, tradition and views I’m sending my message loud and clear today A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!
