When you look at Jenn Litt you see the true sense and meaning of the word FITNESS. Jenn not only walks the walk but she teaches it! She has the passion to educate and motivate our young people, the leaders of tomorrow to achieve fitness and health through dance. Jenn Litt's official titles are Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. I have known Jenn Litt for a short while and I can already tell she loves what she does with a zeal not easily found in professionals today. From the first visit to her website her image spoke to me so strongly, from her smile, her pose and the spirit she presented. Through her career as an elementary school teacher and her company Enerjennics she forges her belief that 'physical activity is one of the most important factors in achieving a healthy, balanced lifestyle'.
Jenn is taking her passion further than other exercise instructors by bringing fitness into the schools; teaching youth to enjoy dancing while getting FIT! We see it on the news daily where today's youth is heading in respect to health and weight related issue. We are even being told we are going to be out living them! When you listen to Jenn talk about the importance of health she approaches it at many different angles. Young people need to exercise but they also need to be motivated. Exercise through dance allows the students to express their unique style, generates movement to the body which in turns clear the mind and allows them to feel better about themselves. When they get back to their classrooms they feel invigorated and ready to challenge whatever the day holds. She and I have also discussed collaborating our businesses (mine being motivational speaking) developing a combined program for the students. Young people often feel they have no outlet other than social media; they want someone to listen to them, help them feel part of society. When Jenn talks about her work, for instance when we had lunch just recently she was empowered about her classes and proceeded to share how the students love the workshop she is currently doing. Jenn stresses the importance of children exercising daily. Now, let's be honest the average person does not even exercise at all so why are our children any different. Well, while we make excuses, Jenn works to create solutions. There are many 'experts' within their field but you must have a passion for what you do! It should ooze out of your pores so others can feel the same spirit you share. Michael Jackson in an interview with Oprah said the following: "You become the sound of the music and it compels you to become a slave to the music." Now that is a man who loves music, was a genius with his art he had...PASSION. In 2012, in anything you do you should feel it internally and share that with the world. To me this embodies Jenn Litt; she has a heart and mission to enforce/ empower the importance of health with our future leaders through our schools today. Jenns' sums it up with her favorite quote "True enjoyment comes from activity of the mind and exercise of the body; the two are united". I am blessed to be part of her mission. Thank you Jenn! In several meetings with Jenn I have come to know a wonderful young lady who just genuinely loves people. When she talks about her classes you feel a zeal that motivates you to run a mile and get in shape. I do workout myself everyday, maybe not at a gym, but I walk our wonderful dog Bonito (Portuguese Waterdog) that is where my cardio is covered two (2) hours daily. And while watching the morning news I do my abdominals for twenty minutes. It not only clears my head to tackle my daily agenda it also makes me feel good to be investing in my health.
