Val Falconer has been a children's author for most of her 56 years on this crazy planet. She loves to play the role of 'secretary' and simply record for posterity the rambling and rantings of the characters within her stories. 

She has recently taken up the challenge of writing for 'big people'. This new endeavour embraces many new aspects of the creative process. She now has great fun creating business stationery or doing research on any subject as long as she has a basic understanding of what the client is talking about. 

She also creates writing workshops for writers of all ages and abilities. Her only 'rule' for accepting students is their desire to have fun and to learn. It's always a bonus when a student knows aspects of a subject that Val has never  heard of or thought of before. 

She is always open to being a sounding board for many subjects including eldercare as she looked after her parents on an ever increasing level for ten years. 

In her spare(?) time she loves to sing, go for walks, and hang out with a wonderful man named Brian Rainey. As of February 27, 2010 she will share that surname!
