I hear that a lot around this time of year, 'What will this year bring?' and it frustrates me really. The answer surely is, 'Whatever you decide it will bring'. It frustrates me because it gives you absolutely no sense of control over what will happen to you. It's like you're assuming, you'll have no choice, things will just happen to you, decisions will be made around you, things will move on – without your influence.

Canada finally grows some ***** and sets down a rule that makes sense despite some minor opposition. Niqabs, burkas and other veils will no longer be aloud when new Canadians take an oath of citizenship. The announcement came this week and I for one say "Hooray!"
I mean, really...does it make any sense to have a masked person take an oath? You can't see if they are saying anything which makes it meaningless. Can you even tell that the person you have in front of you is the person who should be sworn in? I don't know. What is the protocol for ensuring this is indeed the right individual? I'm a little ignorant about the pre-ceremony process but I have no problem with this rule being set in place.

Living in Alberta, plans and dreams of winter getaways bring hopes of stress free days discovering new things, relaxing on a beach and enjoying time alone or with loved ones.
SCREECH! (Nails on blackboard)
No one told me or I somehow forgot about the stress I'd encounter with many of the agencies providing these getaways. After one week of working with three separate companies, a trip was finally booked to go to Alaska, which were it not a family reunion, I would cancel given the poor service and lack of ethics by the service providers.
As a consumer is having the product more important than the service and treatment we receive? The cruise company and booking agent are not concerned about losing my business as there is a large pool of people to draw that allows them to remain in business. Customers need to be constantly on guard or we get caught in the small print.

When you look at Jenn Litt you see the true sense and meaning of the word FITNESS. Jenn not only walks the walk but she teaches it! She has the passion to educate and motivate our young people, the leaders of tomorrow to achieve fitness and health through dance. Jenn Litt's official titles are Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
I have known Jenn Litt for a short while and I can already tell she loves what she does with a zeal not easily found in professionals today. From the first visit to her website her image spoke to me so strongly, from her smile, her pose and the spirit she presented. Through her career as an elementary school teacher and her company Enerjennics she forges her belief that 'physical activity is one of the most important factors in achieving a healthy, balanced lifestyle'.

By midlife our family and work demands often lessen, making this a time when focus and energies shift towards new projects, goals and dreams, interests that add a different kind of meaning to our lives. For many of us a new responsibility emerges - caregiver for an aging parent.
It’s surprising in the 21st century that the responsibility of caregiving still falls primarily on women. The elderly turn to daughters, daughters-in-law and granddaughters for help when they don’t have a partner to care for them. Often we’ve been raised to believe our job is to take care of our family’s needs, so we fall naturally into the role of caregiver.
