JANUARY, 2012

Never one to make New Year Resolutions I have been pleased to see the newsletters in my inbox this January have been about obtainable goals and making small changes in one’s personal and professional life. This is altogether so much more realistic than the old fashioned concept of achieving some huge life changing resolution which usually loses its strength by around mid-February. Better we end each day on the positive note that we took a walk or ate a healthy lunch instead of feeling consistently guilty over what the bathroom scales revealed.

new_year-homepageThe two 2012 goals in my head are not earth shattering but they feel right. This is my year to Just Do It! While the ‘it’ will vary the important point is I don’t procrastinate or push deadlines to the final hour. The other thing is to be mindful of doing everything a little bit better. Try new dinner recipes, read more, be more observant of where I could improve client services; bring something extra to the different areas of my life.

My environment side got a nice kick start for 2012. We don’t have curbside recycling where I live so for quite a while I have been meaning to hire a recycling service. As luck would have it I won three free months recycling pick-up as a door prize. This started the first week in January and I am loving it for all the obvious reasons plus there is much less regular garbage. I will definitely be continuing with this after my 3 months is finished.

I appreciate the emails inquiring how the new addition to the family is doing. For those of you who don’t know we adopted a dog from a local humane society in November. Well things got complicated with his pre-existing leg injury and we had to have the front right leg amputated on December 21 and a bullet removed from his hip. Not to worry he spent the Holidays on a big bed being thoroughly catered to.  And now the stitches are out and his head cone is off we are working on getting him back to a new normal.

Hope everyone’s New Year is off to a great start.
